From logo to stitch file, step by step.
A digitizer turns flat artwork into a plan the machine can follow. Here is the plan our engine builds for every upload, in the order it builds it. It runs on our own server, takes seconds, and never sends your image to a third party.
Read the artwork
PNG, JPEG, WebP, SVG or PDF/AI. Vectors are drawn sharp at the size you ask for; the background is detected and left unsewn, and stray specks near the edge are flagged.
Colours become threads
The image is reduced to a handful of thread colours in a perceptual colour space, then each colour is named after the nearest thread your machine brand shows on screen.
Every shape gets a stitch type
Satin columns for lettering and narrow strokes, tatami fill for wide areas, running stitch for hairlines. Wide shapes with holes keep their holes.
Underlay and compensation
Underlay goes in first so the top stitches sit up instead of sinking. Pull compensation widens columns slightly, because fabric draws in as stitches tighten. Both follow the fabric you pick.
Sewing order
Shapes sew whole, underlay first, nearest next, so jumps and trims stay short. Outlines go on after the fill they cover.
Checks before you sew
Every design is measured stitch by stitch: coverage of the artwork, very short stitches, thread piled too deep, holes, tiny text, colour count. The result is the Ready to sew or Review badge.
What you control
Size and fabric
Width in millimetres and one of five fabric presets: woven cotton, knit jersey, fleece or towel, cap twill, leather or vinyl.
Every region
Click a part to change its thread, sew it as satin or fill, turn the fill direction, make it lighter or denser, or drop the underlay.
Text
Detected lettering is sewn as clean satin letters. Fix a misread word, or treat it as artwork.
Machine and hoop
Pick your machine and you get its format, the smallest hoop it fits and a one-click shrink if it does not.
